RE: i need help

The MT2 uses regular 2.2 size tires. For all around use the best tire that I know of is the Masher 2000's. They have great grip on just about everything.
If you put padle tires on the rear you should use ribbed tires on the front.

Bodies from a Traxxis Stampede will work fine on the MT2 and some of the original T-Maxx bodies will work also.

If you are going to run the truck in the mud don't forget to put balloons on the servos and seal up the battery box.

To add to this question. I have a FF ST2, wanna try putting larger Monster truck tyres on it, my LHS says I can just swap them straight over and some people say I have to make some mods to the truck! Which is true?

RE: i need help

You do not have to mod anything if you are just getting MT tires, you may want to change your pinions though

Cheers - what would happen to the pinions if I didn't?

RE: i need help

nothing really, that i am aware of but i think it would put more where on your engine and your diffs. I could be wrong on this. when I made the switch from my talon tires to magnum tires i didn't change the pinions at first and I did notice that it didn't drive as smooth so I did change the pinions to 11/14 and it ran alot smoother

RE: i need help

also were can i get rims for the tires i shown you guys that will just bolt on like the original ones

RE: i need help

I'm not sure if those rims will fit the hubs... make sure the hex is the same!.. the stampede/rustler rims will fit with no problem... If you want to run paddles on the rears, disable the front driveshafts or you will have problems with steering and probably break the diff cups in front... the mashers will work on the st2 because of the gearing for the smaller original tires, but not tall enough for the MT2... If you do a search of the threads, there is a mod to convert to t-maxx hubs and axles... If you are not mechanically inclined... this may be above some peoples abilities.... I did it on mine with great results... I now run t-maxx 40 series bow ties and street slicks... the biggest problem with the cen mt2 and st2 is that cen ran a smaller hex and shaft.. I think 12mm when all the larger ones ran 14-17mm, you can't just bolt on any wheel and expect it to work... another problem with the larger tires and wheels is the added stress on the drivetrain, unless you modify the axles and diffs...

I decided to go with the above chosen wheels and rims! As, i've already got the 17mm hum attached from previous street wheels!
Damn shop sent me the four rims but only two tyres (asap in the post apparently???) Never mind, this is how they turned out, any good???

RE: i need help

You do not want to use paddle tires on the front they will add to much stress to the steering system and it will not steer or handle very well.
If you want to use something other than ribbed tires on the front try to find an MT wheel that is the same diameter as the paddles.

As for wheels you need to use a 2.2 wheel with as little offset/backspacing as possible such as rear Nitro Stampede wheels or HPI Nitro ST2.
If you search for wheels in this forum you will find lots of info. The same goes for tires.

I believe that wheels for the Jato will fit as well.
