Align Tires

i was wondering how everyone aligns their tires on their cars/trucks? I have been using a torpedo level to get them aligned the best i could.

Ok fellas, I was resisting this one, but now that we have this answer, "eyeball it" I just have to get in on this. there is a device called [link=http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/708097.asp]Monster Camber Gauge made by RPM[/link] You will do a whole lotr better if you use this for your camber and then zip tie it to a 1" x 2" straight peice of wood or rigid yard stick to get your toe in front a rear. It not high precision but works very well for me since no one makes a toe gauge big enough for these trucks. maybe just maybe now that work is not so intrusive on my fun stuff I will come up with a simple design you guys can make one from, maybe.

I use a caliper to measure up whatever points I think are necessary to gage up my camber and toe settings.

That RPM tool looks prett good!

TRD,

So what settings do you go for????

2-3 degrees of toe in front and rear???

Camber????

Hey Scott long time no see.. I set my nemmi with 1 degree toe out in the front and 2-3 degrees toe in on the rear. the front camber is 3 degrees and the rear is 2 degrees. With this setup the truck tracks very straight and hard launches it does not seem to pull at all. Also, its handling has a nice balance on hard to tacky dirt and pavement, grass is a bit more responsive and loose/dusty dirt its has a slight push but thas expected with a truck this heavy!!

Hope that helps, Scott.

Dont be such a stranger

TRD,

Thanks.

Actually that is very close to what i have now, but probably running a bit more camber at the front as I was trying to help the turn in. Mind you, changing the shock settings made it a bit darty, so I may dial some camber out.

Cheers. ;)

the rpm gauges are the best.... notch sometimes uses a can of motor spray and a level table to get his camber right.

My RPM toe guage works fine on my truggy, and I use the rpm camber guage too. I bolt on a set of wheels with no tires mounted so the sidewall doesn't throw the settings off. I run 3 toe in and 2 - camber in rear,1 toe out and 1.5- camber in front.
