Genesis 7.7 problem Help!
I just have broke in, and it runs great. But I have noticed the front end is pulling the truck, and hardly any power is beng sent to the rear axle. So i figured it needed heavier diff oil or put the center diff lock in. Well the allen head bolts are so tight that I snapped my good allen wrench off in it. So I went to the other side and thet are so tight that they will not come loose. Any suggestions well be appreciated

RE: Genesis 7.7 problem Help!
I read somewhere that someone stuck the diff in a toaster oven at 200 for a few min to break down the thread lock. I haven't tryed it yet but was going to when I get some 500k oil for the center diff. I was going to lock the center but I like gunning it from the start and don't really care about wheelies.

Yes Poo is very right, CEN likes to use red loctite in the diffs(keep things from coming apart under accel). All you have to do is heat the diff to 200*f to "melt" the locktite.

Thanks, I will have to give it a try. Any suggestions on removing the broken allen wrench from the bolt head?

RE: Genesis 7.7 problem Help!
You could try drilling it out with a high carbon drill bit, or try tapping the diff on a hard surface to "Knock" it out but highly doubt that will work

i use a pocket butane torch for the diff screws, also good for the field box,
for the broken allen you could dremel a slot in the screw. |
