My pics Hawk Sport
Here are some pics of my Hawk Sport. I just installed the muffler from Curtis Youngblood Muscle Pipe 11 and its really amazing. The heli idles perfect and with almost no noise. However my starter extension came loose when i was trying to start my heli and it broke the link. See pics

Century sells a complete upgrade set of ball link ends for a very reasonable price... I think its 22 ends for $9. (very hard to beat the deal even if I'm off on the price...)

I know what you mean..I used to have a similar problem with my older X-Cells. Broke a lot of their links and a number of canopy tops [sm=angry.gif]
If your wand is the inexpensive type that slips into the standard starter cone and does not have a one-way bearing built into it, then it is imperative that you follow the two-step start procedure described on page #8, step 8 in the manual. Following that procedure will result in the start wand/shaft having stopped at the time you are removing it. Therefore it will not be thrown.
Manuals can be wonderful things

The starter adapter that does not have bearings is what I am using. However.. I am NOT using it with a starter cone for sixed wing model's props... I pulled the cone adapter off the starter. and threaded the heli adapter on in its place. (that's what the inexpensive one is made for.)
It helped that I already had a starter with a bad cone adapeter, which I picked up in a box of RC "junk" at a yard sale.. so I have one starter for fixed wing and one for heli. (turns out the one I dedicated for heli is a stronger, lighter starter than my Sullivan cheapie... An old Webra starter.)

I have been finding if I use both hands , one to engage the starter, and use the web of my other hand around the starter shaft, nothing breaks loose and hits the mechanics of the helicopter. Check out Purple Haze!!!
