New Hawk Pro, assembling questions ??
Hey, I just got my first heil, Hawk Pro. Putting it together manual says to remove the stock engine throttle arm and use the one that comes with the kit. I'm useing an OS 37 engine.
Can't figure out how the new arm fits on. Is there another bolt/screw/washer I'm looking over ? How do you put it on ?
Thanks,

RE: New Hawk Pro, assembling questions ??
I've just built a hawk pro, using an irvine 36, the throttle arm supplied with the kit , would not fit...........without enlarging the mounting hole to a slightley larger diameter, thus solving the problem,

Thanks, I'll try it. Got another question, are the ball link measurements right as given in the manual ?
Can't find the length at all for the flybar control arm's ball links ?
Where is it ?

RE: New Hawk Pro, assembling questions ??
The Hawk Pro manual was written for those using motors with carbs like the OS-32. The OS37 uses a carb like the 50's and 60's. SO the arm they are refering to will not fit. You actually should have no problem using the one from the OS37. Just may need a 3mm spacer between the arm and the barrel to sit it out further. I cut down one of the 3mm/4mm bushings from an old 550mm blade. But almost anything will work.
You can also accomplish the same thing by using a spacer behind the ball joint on the arm. This will move it outward also.

RE: New Hawk Pro, assembling questions ??
Thanks for the info, I thought it was just me. I used a washer and lockwasher on the arm that comes with the kit, I think it will work.
Got another question, the manual does not cover much beside putting it together. Is there a web site that shows in detail on how to set the pitch angle. I have a pitch guage/tools etc. but really don't know what ball link's I should be moving to get the angle's I need.
Thanks
Bob

The link lengths listed in the manual will get you in the ball park.
raptortechnique.com has a bunch of basic heli setup that will help with the pro build

Hey, just wanted you all know that I finished the Hawk, with your help. I got it in the air sunday. With the help of a rotopod training gear. Got a instructor meeting me in a couple days to set up things better.
Thanks all,
Bob
