Jim, the CG is a little nose heavy, I mounted the rudder servo in the tail and the rest of the servos behind the CG. I expected the DB would be nose heavy with the os 91 FS, but thats what I want for the first few flights, will adjust to my flyng style moving the CG back.
Mark, your so right about the canopy it does make it look finished, I'm running a 13x8 prop.
Scott, just let me know I'll for sure be there, next project is to finish my 2nd Phoenix 7 with tuned pipe and retracts. going with a OS 61SF and spring-air retracts. Thanks a lot guys! Pete

Saw that too and so glad to know that, thanks to Don, we can actually get a great fuse/core kit of the same model.
The wood in those kits is something else but for nostalgic or collecting reasons those kits will pick up a dime!
Hey, it beat the recent Blue Angel by a margin!
David.

Flight report: wind a little strong but down the runway, 2 flights first one took 3 clicks of up elevator( 1/2 oz added to tail fixed the elevator trim) and 2 clicks of left aileron. 2nd flight she flew great after changes, grooved were ever you pointed it. I really like this Dirty Birdy final weight 6lbs 14oz.

Beautiful DB rv7driver!
Congrats on a successful maiden. I'll be maidening my Bluejay DB whenever the weather breaks here, should be the next week.

Congrats on your first flight. You truly have a unique color scheme, and I love the decal. The canopy in that color looks absolutely great on that plane. It's nice to see a Dirty Birdy built to plans, (even though I have two of the modified birds built by others), the original plan-form is the prettiest.
Mark: It's up to you on the retracts/pipe. Retracts could be added, but the weight and wing loading goes up as well. You don't have to apologize for not adding retracts if you choose not to do so...you are not a second class citizen because you keep it simple.
I hope to have you fly with us in Knoxville or Asheville soon as you're ready.

Duane, thanks so much for the complements on the DB, it really is a good flying airplane, I hope to make it up to neck of the woods for your contest this year seeing I'm semi-retired.
Have you started the TT4 yet? mines almost ready for the fiberglass and paint. Regards, Pete

Pete,
Please post flight report an the P7 with OS SF and retracts-I'm in the decision making stage on my P7 (it's still in the box under the building table).
Thanks,
Jim
