Default Rowan Rowin

Some 40 years ago, I had a pattern plane from a German company called Rowan. the model's name was Rowin.
Rowan also sold a digital radio under the name Propcontrol.
It had a fiberglass fuselage and balsa planked foam wing.
It flew quite well with a Merco 49 of which I still have two.
It met its demise when I applied up elevator while flying inverted less than 20 meter above an ex-WW2 German concrete runway.
The Merco did not survive either, althouh I kept the liner/piston assembly as a spare.

Now, I never took a picture of this model, and I would love to find one.
Google has been totally unresponsive, but maybe someone on RCU ... [8D][8D]

You should ask for it in the German newsgroups!

I know that Peter Uhlig, our Germen F3A judge, still has one of it in his hanger ......

Hi,

According to this site (in german) http://home.arcor.de/karlheinz.schmi...844/index.htmlRowan was a US company and Rowan Germany was a branch to that company as I understand it.
Maybe the plane You are searching forwas advertised in FMT or similar Germanmodel magazine in end of 1960th or beginning of 1970th.
On ebay Germany old issues of FMT etc can probablybe found. Maybe You can find an old Rowan catalog from around 1970th there also (might take a while).
Unless someone give better answer places like thatiswhere I would start searching and on German model flying forums.

Yes, the Rowan Rowin ranks very close to the top in my all time favourite pattern plane design list...

One day it will be flying
