Default What pattern plane is this?

Hi, does anybody know what plane this is?
YS .45 rear exhaust, about 59" wingspan. Is this a Bridi design?
thanks

Looks a lot like a Dirty Birdy with a pipe style canopy added. Wing span is wrong for either the standard or the .40 size but could have been a variant.

Does it have a subfin?

Subfin - hard to see from these pics if it has a one.
I will ask fuselage length, maybe this would clarify if it is a .60 size Dirty Birdy with clipped wings. But a .45 engine would be a little small then?

I'd have to agree with Dave - looks like a Dirty Birdy but the aspect ratio seems a little off (wing to fuse). The DB40 had a flat slab type stab while the original DB60 had a thin airfoiled stab. Both had sheet balsa verticals.

What throws the models proportions off further is the oversize canopy which looks like an Escape/XLT sized/type canopy indeed made for an under the hood pipe setup.

However, both the wing and stab planforms as well as the vertical fin and rudder are 100% Dirty Birdy.

It looks like someone did some "cooking" to it if it was built from a kit.

David.

Yep, the picture of the bottom shows the wing fairings better. The wing fairings, the square ply wing bolt plate and the wing belly fairing are also 100% Dirty Birdy. No doubt it's a DB of some kind.

You're right, the fuse length would help. And stab construction too, built up or sheet.
