RE: Tiger Tail M.A.N. Construction Article
Brian,
I did see that the HB muffler has 5-44 threads on the MECOA Web site and found that to be a bit odd! Being made in Germany I would have thought they would be 3mm or 3.5mm threads.

RE: Tiger Tail M.A.N. Construction Article
With help from JeffH I now have two muffler options for the Webra. A new, unused factory Webra muffler and a NIP Macs muffler.
The Macs muffler is actually for an HB .40. It is slightly smaller than the Webra muffler but similar in size to a .60 size SEMCO. It has a 1/2" diameter outlet and an internal baffle of some sort. Looks like it might be a relatively free flowing muffler, so I think it would work OK on the Webra.
I actually prefer the look of the Macs muffler over the Webra because it looks similar to the one that Ron originally used on his Tiger Tail. Definitely not the same muffler, but close in appearance, at least from a distance.
The down side to the Macs is the screw size. The 4-40 screws that are used are too large to pass through the muffler mounting holes on the engine. I'm not a big fan of drilling out any part of an engine case, especially a vintage engine. If I decide to go with the Macs muffler I will plug the 4-40 holes and re-drill & tap them to match the Webra screws, which I believe are 2.5mm.
