Default Which Hatori tuned pipe?

I 'm looking for tuned pipe for a recently acquired YS. 61 LS rear exhaust engine. I see Hatori lists the good old 650( that I used with my YS .60FR ). Then there is the newer Hatori 700 pip which is longer. Which would work better with the .61 Long Stroke engine? I'm planning on ordering from these folks. http://www.tokyo-hobbies.com/hatori.html Anybody ever do business with them?

I talked with them once but never "dealt" with them...Seemed like a nice guy on the phone though...

I am interested in this too! I noticed the U.S. store doesn't list the 650. I was wondering if the 700 would be too long?

Need to find out the first baffle lenght... could always shorten the header..

DP3 You could always use a NovaRossi pipe

If it is the YS 61-R and not the A/R, I would go with the Hatori #650. The #650 was made for around 11K rpm for the long stroke YS 61-R and OS 61SF/RF/-Ps.

The #601 was the matching pipe for the short stroke YS 60 FS/FR (not the #650). The #601 came out earlier, was shorter, heavier, and optimized for 15K rpms of the short strokes.

The #700 came out later was really made for the OS Hanno and the YS 61 A/R, which is optimized at lower rpms with bigger props, 9-10K rpm.

All of the Hatori pipes will seem short compared to Macs.

PS: there's a YS 61-R with brand new Hatori 650 at a very good price on the classifieds, if still available I'd pick that up immediately instead.
