Caio,

Something else, something with even more horses...[8D]

Welcome to the forum. Plenty to read on the subject here!

In a nutshell, it's a short stroke like the 60 FR built into their 60 R/AR crankcase with different guts and carb which uses their heli technology. The engines are ringed!

Yes, this is the new YS 61R short stroke which is based off their helicopter engine and it is a ringed motor. Got confirmation of three in route to me. Will post pictures when they arrive, should be early next week.

YS motors have arrived. Just receive 4 new YS 61R classic pattern motors and what Jems they are. These were purchase thru a local hobby shop in Japan that is located very close the YS factory. As we know, Japan flyers have first choice but I was very Lucky to know someone who has personal contact with the sales force and was able to get these motors. One motor will go into an Atlanta, another in an Aurora and haven't decided what to do with the other two. I know Richard Verano was saying that when they do arrive in the states, the price will be somewhere between $325 - $350 but unforunately I paid a little more but not much. I have been trying to post some pictures but having a hard time trying to resize the photos so that they are accepted in RCU but will keey trying. The only difference in appearance between the original 61R and even the AR is the head. The head is cast not machine. The words "61R Classic" is marked on the head , left side and YS fashioned an additional fin on the head. A typical case has 9 fins but with the added fin from the head, you got 10. Slightly smaller needle valve and yes the motor does come with the check valve. As for headers, the Hatori works just fine except you need to rework the header to match the exhaust opening, but we all know that. Also being that they came from Japan, the instructions are all in Japanese but not to worry, not difference in operation or setup (basically). Will try to get the pictures up tonight but in the meantime, can someone assist me in away to get these pictures smaller, I took them with a Cannon digital camera. I have an IPad and was wondering would it work from that platform.<div></div><div>Steven</div><div></div><div>BTW, other than Richard Verano, I just might be the only human in the states to have these motors - how cool is that - way cool.
Also, MK kits are still around and there are plenty of them, you just will pay for them.</div>

All in Japan, it just depends on what you are looking for. the kits are there, it's just what are you willing to pay and if you realize where they are, you will pay, big time. For example, an MK Aurora kit could cost you $500 to $600 - you can pay that much for pristine kit on that famous auction site. What I am looking for is the Yoshioka Citation kit and I just might have a link.
