Some nice pics on this thread, especially liked the EU-1A. I built one of Dave Scullys EU-1A kits with Webra Race and Rhom Airs. I flew extensively in the pattern wars of the late 70s and 80s in the S.E. while I lived in Augusta, Ga. The pics n this thread brought back rich memories of those times, thanks.

Frank,
The way you fly that mustang is a dead give away that you have flown pattern !! I sure wish you guy's would put on a pattern contest at the Tuscaloosa Field, as it's one of the best flying sites in the South !!
Dave..

Okay guys sorry for the delay... I final got some time stuck at the airport with WX delay.
The scoring program worked great even with the Masters guys who we did the scoring by hand like the old days
It was a true honor to see some of the guys from the past and planes flying the Masters Pattern as well as all the other classes..
Thank you to Kara Phillips ( Little Dave's wife) and also Peggy ( Big Dave Phillips wife) for helping with the scoring.
We did just like the old days and did not normalize the score as that was NOT in the 80-81 rule book.
Novice:
1st - Pete Coleman
Advanced:
1st - Bob Wetzel
2nd - Dave Wenzel
3rd - Jim Slocum
Expert:
1st - Curt Oberg
2nd - Dave Phillips III
Masters:
1st - Greg Hoke
2nd - Jeff Owens
3rd Cliff Hiat
Photos to follow....time for another beer....

Okay 2nd beer arrived..
Here are some photos !
You will see that Dave Phillips had a prop decide to eat his finger during a demo of one of the new Nova Rossi engines... Good thing there was a paramedic there
Dave spent a lot of time in the judges chair after his trip to the hospital.
Photos now....
shoot another WX delay.
