Kwik Fli finished
#1
Recently finished my Kwik Fli built from plans. Covering is uncertified light aircraft fabric and Randolph dope. Cowling is home made fiberglass. I found a couple of NIB Clarence Lee K&B .61 specials at a flea market (you don't want to know what I paid for them) so I chunked one of them under the hood. Ailerons are via bellcranks per the original plans. It flies fantastic and really howls with that K&B up front. All up weight is 6.6 lbs according to my digital scales.

Very nice. Makes me feel nostalgic. Must have built 7 or 8 Kwik Flies during the late 60's early 70's. Not all for myself but for other folks to pay for mine while I was going to school. My favorite was a Graupner version with a Veco 61. I still have a NIB Top Flite that I may have to build to relive those early experiences. Great airplane.
