Default Dumas Triton

Hey Guys,
If anyone out there has a Dumas Triton laying around they might want to sell or if that's not possible I'm looking for at least a set of plans and I will scratch build it! It was my first Pattern plane I flew and would like to build another.
Please let me know if anyone has either.
Thanks

Just a minute... didn't this thread already happen!?

I'm sure I've seen your post before and an ensuing thread on the Triton.

Much was said about the Bee Gee's 1980's resemblance...

Nice model by the way!

Hi David
Yeah your right! I had purchased one from a private owner and decided to build about 2 months ago! This was a huge mistake on my part, but I had rounded up a bunch of old kits I had this winter and went to swap meet to get rid of it to make room for some more pattern planes and to visit with a friend of mine and sold it all to one guy up in Minnesota! It was a last minute decision to go so I was in a hurry and I evidently threw it in with the rest of the kits, I even helped him load it into his car to take it home. When I looked for the plane a few weeks later I couldn't find it. I don't think I have to tell you the rest of the story! Anyway I'm out a Triton now, so I need to replace it. Not happy at all about it either. Any how it was great talking with you again David and see if you can find me one, that would be great.

Don,

now it all makes sense... I was having a case of déjà vu all day and this just capped it off!

Mmm... you need to send a raven to Minnesota to see if it can spot your Triton and get it back where it belongs.

I'm relucatant to say it because I have not seen them in years and I also have no way of getting a reasonably priced scan in town (as ridiculous as that sounds) but..., I do have the plans - somewhere. If no one else comes through (many guys here probably have a more accessible set than mine which are somewhat faded if memory serves), I'll dig around on the weekend to see what I find.

Very straight up and classy looking classic. Hard to tell from above but it almost has Dirty Birdy overtones except, I'm sure, the vertical, is rather different. I think the DB was published in 1976. What's the vintage of the Triton?

David,
I flew my Triton from 1972 until 1975 but the plane was out before that because my father had built one several years before mine! Not exactly sure on the year it came out from Dumas though. I'ts a tough plane to find out there but I know if I have to I can re-design it myself to be very close! Hopefully someone out there in RC Pattern land has a set of plans, it would save me a bunch of time! Once I get a project on my mind I have to get on it. I'm sure you do the same. Most builders do. I appreciate the help though.
Don
