Default I want a couple of RTF classic pattern airframes

Hello all

I want to get my hands on a couple of classic pattern airframes in good-excellent condition. I have a few interesting engines I could trade for them (or cash). All the engines fit into .60 size airframes. Among these engines: YS60 FR SE (almost new, might need bearings), Jett (several sizes), Picco .80 RE, Rossi, Novarossi, OS VFR RE, etc. Also have a couple of YS .45 RE

I am looking for RTF Curare, Tipo, Banshee, Mach I, Atlas, Arrow, Olympia, etc.

Let me know what you have and let's get those old airframes/engines up in the air, where they belong.

Best to all,

Ed

Ed,

incidentally, my soon to be released RE 60 design(s) will be perfect for many of these engines, notably the YS FR, NR Speed/13, Picco 80 and such. Actually I have one of these last as well and am dying to try it out. Do you have a header solution for it?

I also have some great designs for the YS 45 FS/FR. Those will be available sooner but I also have a Dirty Birdy 40 redesign laser kit which is available now.

David

I think he means RTF not ARF.

David, I am running the Picco 80 with an old header (really short) that I got with the engine. I use a second aluminum tube to lengthen the header, which the couples to a Novarossi pipe. The .80 is a beast, but just yesterday it broke its bearings for the third time. It might have some design issues. I am waiting for new bearings as well as for a Jett .90 BSE that Dub is repairing for me, to put on the Arrow.

Regarding your Arrow-like designs, could you send me a sketch? I was about ready to get an arrow kit from Rcaiir, but will wait for your response (intrigued).

Thanks for this very interesting thread

Unfortunately I am too busy to work on my airplanes, but I like this too much to set it aside. that is why I want to get a couple or RTFs, to stay in the air. I can always find some time to tune and repair them, but not to actually build or assemble. Maybe that is good, as I am definitely not the best builder.

Nice looking airplanes! The EU1-A looks familiar... did that come from a large 'estate' sale a couple of years ago?

Ed,

I hadn't seen seen this post until now. I suppose RCU notification issues.

Thanks for the info on the Picco 80. I think I might have a header solution.

I've tried to reach you by email and PM with info on the kits you requested but not sure if you've received them. If you can, a quick line in reply would be appreciated. If not, we'll find a way to get you the info. We can also discuss the RE 60 Arrow like classic - the design changes we have brought about in it should make it a great pattern bird!

David, I have tried to respond to your emails but all of them come back. Some sort of firewall issue. Let me try to solve it

Ed,

thanks for posting. I just sent you a PM with two email addresses you can try. I generally don't have any problems with either with a straight up text email.

Try those and if you are still are having problems, just copy/paste your reply in a PM here. We'll figure this out.

Yes, I bought two of them from the Kansas City area.

Hey David,
Please send me an email regarding your 'new' design and kitting plans.
Thanks,
Will

David

How is the "new design" progressing? may I suggest that we make it particularly fast? Maybe a thin wing on the enclosed pipe-fuse? Really, think of it: a Jett .90 pulling that thing at 150-160mph, to fly a modified pattern that requires that type of speed.

just an idea...

Saludos!!!

Stuntflyr,
I didn't know you had an EU1 for sale (maybe...). If so, got some pics? I have a friend who might be interested; he's been following my build on RCG. Let me know the price, and I'll put you in touch. If PM doesn't work, let me know and I'll send you a phone number...

Still looking for a RTF (or close) classic pattern plane. Atlas, Arrow, Mach I or other 70's-early 80's. Need to be in good-excellent shape. OK if no engine.

I might sell my p-8. With a flying stab I've always been hesitant to fly it. Kraft retracts might need to be removed.

Hi David

Why are you hesitant? The flying stab thing should be interesting

It is a plane I acquired from an old time pattern flyer and is a classic through and through. After 5 years of owning it the thought of why do I continue to keep it is a question I ask myself.
