Default Classic Pattern Plane??

Hey guys,

Does anybody know anything about a plastic ARF Mystic 90? The one I have is taildragger/retract, inverted YS rear exhaust w/pipe.

It seems small for the engine, about 650-700 sq. in., but has Mystic 90 on both sides of fuse.
Haven't flown it yet--don't know if I want to. Is it worth trying?

Thanks,

I think it was made for .90 4-strokes or .60 2-strokes. The Mystic 60, which was the 1993 version of the Mystic 120 from 1991, was the plane Hanno used to win the worlds in 1993 (going back to 2-strokes again). I´m sure the Mystic 90 (an 85% version of the Mystic 120) is a wonderful flyer.

The Mystic 60/90 (60 2 stroke or 90 4 stoke) was a Hanno Prettner design. EZ made the ARF that you have. One of my friends had one. Flew great.

BTW: Fire it up!!!! Go fly the wheels off of it.

It should however not be confused with the Mystic 60, which was a much bigger plane (70" wingspan).

I found this text at on old cached page when doing a google search on the Mystic 90:

EZ Mystic 90. Was powered by a Y.S.61 LS on a Weston pipe. She now has a O.S. 91fx 2stroke on a muffler! Very quiet,
excellent throttle response and AWESOME power turns a 12 x12 apc @ 9,700 out of the box on 10% nitro

Hey Pattern Student, If you still have the plane and are interested in letting it go, let me know. I remember when I was stationed in Japan (87 - 90) I was just learning to fly from the wonderful Japanese flyers and one of my friends had one that was incredible to fly. My email is [email protected]. Thanks!

OK,
I have a Mystic 30.
Can anyone tell me about this plane??????
I got it out of a barn that a club member has. Looks cool but could use a new canopy for it.
It is now on the bench to be refitted with new radio gear for the spring.

Any help would be great!!!

Thank you

Wow, Mystic 30 huh? I was asking about that one a couple weeks back. I know where there's one NIB at a hobby store in Japan. Kind of a hole in the wall place with dusty boxes that have been sitting there for years. I found a webpage talking about it, but they just mentioned it was a rarer kit. I almost bought it but couldn't find any real info on the plane so I passed.

fg56,
I have this plane also.
You state you have it still in kit form.
Do you have the plans or instruction booklet at least?
I am in need of both.
Is there anyway I could get a copy from you?????
Please let me know.

Thank you

Todd

I have one of these planes I got from a long time flying freind.
He todl me it fly great!!!!!.
My plane is complete.
The only he that was bad about it was the retracts were junk.
After to landings he bent one in half.
They were replaced with Robart's.
The power plant in mine is a Thunder Tiger 46 pro.
I have not yet flown it, so that is all I can tell you right now.
You could answer a quick question for me thou.
I need to know the CG on it. He had a speed pipe fro the muffler (he kept that, bummer)
But now if the factory muffler on it I need to rebalance it.

If you need or want to know any thng about the assy. of it I can send you pics of mine that is built.
I did find out a few small things about it.
Let me find the web pages and I willl send them along.

Thank you

Well i just looked at the plans and unbelievably there is no mention of cg or where it might be located i guess use the rule of thumb the plane should be level when supported by the front spar and if it doesnt sit on the gear rite and tends to sit on it's ass then add weight up front there is no instruction book just plans i'll try to make a copy today when i get the copy PM me with your address and i'll send them to you it looks like a pretty stout plane i just love the looks of it and by the way the plans call for a .60 size engine with the factory pipe A quick question for you does your plane have screws or cam locks holding the wing in after inserted into the forward dowel pin holes thanx chris

My plane has screws that hold the wing in place.
I think a .60 would be much to heavy for it.
Great power but you would have to add so much weight in the tail you would lose power in the long run.
Also remember back then the 60 was the biggest and best they had for power.
A nice 46 now like a OS FX 46 or Thunder Tiger 46 Pro, or even a Super Tiger 46. Is more than enough power.
I think mine weighs around 2.5 lbs with motor but no radio gear.

I did find out the plane was made in a 30, 60 and 120 size.

In the 80's and 90's (I think) it hels F3A awards.

It was designed in Japan by Hanno Prettner

Check out thid link below for a picture of a Mystic 120

I will PM you with my address. for the plans. Let me know when you send them.

I need the plans for the Mystic 30.
I do not have a Corsair mk2.
As far as posting pictures, at the bottom of the place you type your letter it has "click here to up load images and files"
Click there.
Then it will have a box that pops up.
Perss the browse button.
Find the image or file you want and click OK at the bottom
It will find the file and add it.

Thats it.

It looks that it only can do .JPG or .GIF or text files.

If you have a differnt file form it must be converted into one of them first.

Thanks
