I have been flying RC for 35 years, thought I had seen everything and done most of them, but yesterday was a first. I was flying my
trusty Naruki designed Kyosho G-Trick with a YS 110. I have it set up like an
F3A airplne and am trying to generate some interest in smooth precise flying among a club full of stick banging sport 3D flyers and was
having some success. I was about halfway through the flight, model was flying
well. I did an inside outside horizontal eight with full roll and exited right, pulled vertical and climbed straight up about 800 feet. I did a
very nice clean stall turn, hit the down line, did a snap, pulled
level, and HIT A TURKEY BUZZARD head on. The front of the model disintegrated
back to the wing saddle, the buzzard dropped like an anvil, and I managed to "fly" the remains of the model down with 3/4 down elevator to a pretty good "landing." We found the model, totalled, we found the buzzard, also totalled, but cannot find the YS110, so it turned into a
very expensive incident.
I am starting to look for a replacement. Since I do primarily helicopters and really don't have time to build a kit model, so I need an ARF F3A style model suited to a YS 110. Does anything pop into your head?
thanks,
Gordie

The Excelleron is good, if you want to spend more and have better quality, lighter model look into the Planes Plus Dream 110.
Designed around the YS 1.10.
There are several threads on both aircraft- do a search.
