Default Bridi XLT Plans?

Hi All,

Would anyone have a set of XLT plans they would be willing to sell or copy? I want to scratch build and paying $110 (kit price) for a set of plans seems silly... If Bridi or Bluejay will sell plans, I would go that route, but I didn't see any info on the website.

Thanks,
Mark

unless you are able to cut foam core wings and have the fiberglass canopy it is cheaper to buy the kit i am building one of there kits now and it seems to be up to the quality of the original bridi kits but i have substituted the bulk heads with nomex/carbon fiber and the wing sheeting with 4-6 pound compitition balsa and am on track for a 6lb. all up plane . $110 dollars is not that bad just for the wing cores and the canopy alone .

Hey Gary,

That is a valid point. Just to be clear, I wasn't saying that $110 was unreasonable for the kit, it's actually very fair. My reasons for wanting to scratch build are similar to yours - I want a light airplane when done and it bothers me to pay for the wood in the kit and then simply replace it all when I build. But I was not thinking of cores and the canopy. I can get cores cut locally for pretty cheap, though. What are you using for an engine? 6lbs is a great weight and I would be happy with around 7lb myself. I plan to use a Super Tigre 90 on mine and at 7lb it will be pretty ballistic. Which is just about right.

It will have to wait, though. I just ordered a set of Dirty Birdy plans from RCM, so that can come first.

Thanks for the reply,
Mark

Thanks for the offer, Steve. I got a pdf set from another forum member, along with plans for the Dirty Birdy and Escape in the deal. So now I just need to stop working so much and get building...
