Default Enya .61

Hello everyone,
Does anyone know the weight of an Enya .61 engine from the 1967-1969 era?

I don’t have my Enya 61s anymore but they were light, possibly lighter than the Webra Black Head that is a smidge over 16oz.

Jeff, my Enya 60 II manual says it weighs 13.6 oz (that's w/o the muffler). I don't recall seeing any of Phil Kraft's Kwik Fli III's with a muffler when the design was published, so that would be what his aircraft flew with. That and the aluminum engine mount.

Do you guys recall what size prop was used on that engine? Also, the horsepower rating.
Many thanks.

I used an 11x8 on my Enya .60 Series II. No muffler, just the rotating exhaust baffle. My ears still ring today. []

Jeff

The Enya manual lists "BHP 0.9~1.1 @12,500 rpm". Again that's without a muffler. Peter Chinn tested the later and somewhat more powerful Enya III in MAN April 73 and showed .9 hp with the stock carb and muffler. The optional G8 carb on that engine did much better.

This is pure memory (and mine's not that good) but I seem to recall getting 10,500 or a bit more using an 11/7 prop. I normally used a Perry carb and a SilenceAir muffler on my Enya's. This was with the very early Enya 60 II TV.

jeff, I have an Enya 60 IIIB T.V. that was purchased about that time. My spec. sheet says weight is 15 oz. RPM range is 2500 to 14000 and the recomended breakin prop is 12X6.

I hope this helps
