Does anyone have experience using this plane as a pattern ship? I realise that it is primarily a 3D machine but it is said to be capable of both pattern and 3D.
I am just about to order this machine
and wondered if anyone uses it for pattern comps.

yes. I use the synergy 91 3D as a pattern plane. I have the battery just behind the fire wall with the tank on cg running a ys110.
You will love this plane, it flies very light and manageble. I have reduced all the throws on the surfaces to fly pattern smoothly. The cg is at the forward range to give stability. If you want 3D just move the battery back behind the wing and increase all throws.
I just use my synergy for pattern and it performs all the manovers very well. Good choice!!

Hi, I have a Synergy 90 3D fitted with a OS91 FX with a weston pipe. Flies great even in rough weather. Only problem is the retractable undercarriage at anything other than feather landings. Suggest you buy some more epoxy and spare ply. Extend the undercarriage mounting plate by at least two inches together with fillet support.
