Going off of memory here..... but isn't the X61 susposed to be a rear exhaust engine? The one in the link looks like standard G60 model.

Seems every engine this seller has and has sold(checking sold items in feedback) have run less than(pick one) 1) one gallon, 2) break in, 3) six quarts, etc. Someone is getting rid of a lot of barely used engines or is a reseller of used engines. Doesn't mean theses are not good deals, but just seems curious.

The original Supertiger "X" series did not refer to the exhaust configuration, it was because it was a PDP ported engine.

They did come in both side and rear exhaust versions.

The big "G" on the side of the crankcase leads me to believe that it's not an X-61K.

Its not the X 61 K was later less powerful engine with schnerule porting not the PDP porting that these engines had.

Super Tigre's pattern hey-day ended with the G60 Bluehead. The later couple of .61 Tigres were good engines, but they were not the powerhouses in their time that the G60 Bluehead was. I've always wondered why they backed off of producing competitive pattern engines. OS did the same thing, but I doubt that it was intentional. For that matter, I'm not sure it was with Super Tigre either.

PDP only works with crossflow scavenged engines, IIRC. There is nothing "racing" about the X61, in spite of the marketing hype.

Some of the baffle piston equipped HB .61 PDP engines were pretty hot and pretty much stayed with the OS.60F SR unless a tuned pipe was used.

My memory isn't that good any longer. I just remember seeing the ST engines at pattern contests and never being impressed enough to want to buy one. I stuck with OS.

That fellow's price on eBay is too high, imho.

I disagree the PDP Tigers were great running engines, the only real draw back was that they were gas hogs. They would suck a 14 oz tank draw 3 mins before my OS FSR would and 2 mins before my OS 61 VF would. But as far s power and RPM they would run neck and Neck with the OS engines. As a mater of fact with a Rev up 11x7 3/4 it would out pull my OS FSR. The only other draw back was you couldn't get them to run consistently unless you ran a pipe on them. But once the pipe was tuned you never had to fool with the settings.

I do agree that price is to much.

If my memory is correct you guys may want to get with TonyF
on this engine. He did some good things to/for the X 60/61. Do
any of you guys remember Hanno Prettner winning the World
or TOC with a Supertigre? There must be a lot of Supertigre
collectors out there because it’s hard to pick one of these up
cheap. They are good engines with lots of power. For me they
are easy to setup and forget. Also the G60 Bluehead was the
engine to have PDP.
