Hey all,
Since we started the BPA, I guess I should have something to fly. So here is the beginning of my build.
I have my Rossi .60 with Tuned Pipe, and Spring Air retracts. I figured I would try a little honeycombing and see how it went. I began with the horizontal stabs. I first made a single template, and removed the voids with an x-acto knife. Not the greatest or smoothest cuts. So I remembered seeing a foam cutter at Michael's craft store. They use it to make snow landscape for the Christmas houses. $7.00 and a second template later, I refined the cuts, making them smooth and much more square.
I weighed each stab prior and each weighed 3 grams. Now down to 2 grams. The real weight savings will be with less glue. Or it will not make a difference, we will see. I will do some honeycomb on the wings, but not too drastic.
Balsa order is in, so will post more later,
Happy Turkey day!

Hi All,
Sorry this thread has been dead for a while. My wife and I had our 3rd child a few months ago, and Baby is doing well. We had the basement finished prior so the P's could stay from AZ to help out. Since all the basement stuff was piled in my workshop, there was no workign space. My wife had some complications during the delivery, and almost lost her. Thank God things have turned out alright. So my building has been put on the back burner for a while. But the workshop is being cleard, and work should begin again.
