It's the originally published version, the plane Jim Whitley won the '66 Nats with, in the May '67 Model Airplane News. I know that latter-day modifications have been made to it for SPA/BPA or whatever, but that's not this one!

I think there are about seven or eight marks of that design, but I've never been able to find out anything about what the changes were. The fact that it seems almost impossible to pin down exactly what mark any given DR actually is has probably contributed to it's popularity.
Add to that the "Duck Rule" and it truly is a very "flexible" design. I'm not suggesting that's not a good thing. Though, I honestly never found the MAN version to have any visual appeal. I can't even award it the "form follows function" caveat.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I have searched everywhere for plans, etc. for Jim's Daddy Rabbit. I have flown against him at the old "hill top " field outside Atlanta in the 60's and early 70's. He beat us every time. What an airplane! What a pilot!
Who do I have to pay to get a set of these plans? And how do I go about it?
Thank you again.

I've seen photos of Whitley with his DR VII from 1971, but the only plans Ive ever seen are for an earlier version. Were the later versions published? Does anyone know how they differ? I think I've read that a lot of the SPA DRs are based on the later versions like the VII.
