I have written a program that handles setting up and running of an F3A competition.
It is quite comprehensive, and handles line allocation, frequency clashes, prints score sheets, prints score sheets for late entrants, prints progressive and final results, promotions, etc.
It supports 1 or 2 lines - 2, 3, or 5 judges - up to 9 flights - up to 5 classes - up to 7 schedules. It drops lowest normalised flight for the results, but can produce results without dropping any flight by using the progressive results as final.
Basically you enter your competitor's names, classes and frequencies ONCE EVER. Each time you run a comp, you then run the Setup Your Competition Wizard which guides you through the process, finally printing out the score sheets (in flight order) flight line sheets, and (optionally) sheets naming the judges. It has lots of great features such as when entering scores it automatically moves to the next line on the score sheet to save data entry (except if you enter a score of 1 as it doesn't know if you are giving a 10). That saves heaps of data entry time. Just keep pressing 5 6 7 5 8 9 7 6 4 etc and the score sheet handles the rest. When you select the competitor's name on the score sheet from the drop down list (or starting to type their name) once the competitor is selected it automatically enters the flight number and schedule flown. Both can be altered if required, but unless you are entering flights out of order they are correct.
It requires either Access 2002 or Access 2003.
It has been in use across Australia now for approx 12 months, and with feedback and development over the past year it is performing well.
Best of all it's FREE.
I retain the copyright, but there is no charge for it, and I don't intend to charge in the future. I wrote it to support F3A in Australia, and if you can use it you are welcome, just let me know by email (the address is in the program) that you are using it as I am interested in knowing how wide the use is.
To download the software log on to: http://f3a.awpd.biz/f3a-download
and you can download the program (about 20MB compressed).
Enjoy
