Airbusdrvr, having the meeting in the Tampa area has possibilities. I’m not sure how long it would take me to drive up there but it shouldn’t be too bad. The location would make it easier for the guys in the panhandle to come down. According to Google Maps it’s 323 miles from my house and would take 5 hours to drive up there. I checked out the Bays City Flyers website and it looks real good to me.
Alright we have a suggested sight. Anyone have any comments?
Airbusdrvr, I need your name and e-mail for the list.

Hello everyone:
Bob, I do not have a problem with the field in Tampa, however, the 29th of September I am CDing a "Sport 240" pylon event at my club field RCACF. The Sport 240 are 80" WS, 2.2 CI max displacement engines and go approx 130-160 MPH.
The get together should go on whether I am there or not, I can always get the information later. The Tampa site is approximately 1.7 hours from where I live in Orlando.
I am fairly sure my club RCACF would be responsive to having guests fly at the RCACF field. I will check with the "Board of Directors". However, the gathering cannot be on Sept 29, 2007; most likely the weekend before or weekend after. Probably the first Satutrday in October would be best for us. The pattern guys in my club would be practicing the weekend before the Jacksonville contest on the 29 of September. I unfortunately will not be attending that one due to contest conflicts (my mistake). Our field is outfitted with a 700' paved runway, non AC clubhouse, electricity for charging and "pot-o-lets (male and female). The only drawback is you must know how to fly in a crosswind, the runway goes North to South (sometimes it goes South to North). Bob this may be a little closer for you, not much though.
In any event, I think you are on the right track.

Orlando, we'll try for the following Saturday. We have only so many willing pilots, I don't want to count anyone out.
How about Saturday, October, 6th.
Check your calendars guys.
Rich is checking to see if we can meet at the Ocala club field. I'm leaning towards Ocala so that those of you with small wheels (RAY) will be able to get off the runway. lol

The Ocala club is fine with me as is October 6, 2007. Who knows I may have my MK Arrow finished by then.
Right now I am going to the shop to work on my new pattern plane, Black Magic.
Off to the dungeon.

The RCACF runway is also paved. Let's see what Orlando can do with the BOD. The Ocala field has the same crosswind issue as Orlando. I'll still check with the powers that be. Either one is about 1 1/2 hours from me.

Good evening everyone
I check earlier this evening with the prsident of RCACF. He began with saying no problem and fact is he was handing me the guest passes for all to come.
I mentioned if he shouild run it thru the rest of the BOD as I do not want any last minute surprises. He said he would. Therefore, I assume this will get an approval. The date I mentioned was Octtober 6, but let's firm up a date and have at it, wherever the location results to be.
How is Rich doing with the Oala Club?

Orlando,
Right now it's a toss up between Tampa and Orlando. Rich will be checking with the Orlando club this weekend. The only difference I see between the two sites is one is grass the other paved. I have no preference either way. I fly off of grass now and learned to fly off of paved so I can handle either one.
The dates we're looking at now are Sunday, October the 7th or Saturday, October the 13th. Jeff has a conflict with the 6th. No one has spoken up about conflicts with those two dates so we would have to decide if we want to do this on a Saturday or a Sunday.
Ok, guys this e-mail is a required response requested e-mail. Below are your choices.
A. Sunday, October the 7th
B. Saturday, October the 13th
Once we hear from Rich, we will probably have to decide between the two clubs, but right now we need to decide which date to meet.
Copy this e-mail and paste to your e-mail response and type in the date you like next to your name. Once I hear from all of you, I'll announce the final date. This is a democracy, so the date with most votes wins.

We are going to have a Florida SPA kickoff fly-in on October 13th at the Orlando RCACF field. If you are interested, send me an e-mail with your name and AMA number so we can get a guest pass for you. So far we've got about 20 pilots coming. All SPA and BPA planes are welcome.

I am not reporting on the events of the 1st Florida SPA meeting today west of Orlando. That is better left to the organizers. However, I noticed that no one had yet posted any pictures. So a few pics of today's event.
