Hey Guys,
I am currently in Iraq but managed to buy a RTF Oaxi Pinnacle for the upcoming season. It comes with a YS 160DZ and looks to have all the right stuff. I thought I'd ask for everyones help as far if there are any " pay attention to this" or "look out for this" areas. I have only flown in Sportsman for 2 hit and miss yrs due to deployments, to give a background, I plan to bump up a class this yr so I can try to attend the Nats (Marine Corps allowing).
Thanks in advace for all the help[8D]

Hey, Your in the wrong forum<G>....but I happened to see it anyway.
I have been flying a Pinnacle E this season in intermediate and I love it. Look carefully at the gear mounting plate. I and at least one other person I know have had "issues" with the gear plate breaking -especially flying off grass fields. I don't know about the liquid fuel version, but the E version has a lite ply plate with a thin piece of carbon laminated on the underside. As I tightened the gear, the upper layer of lite ply crushed and when the gear was stressed on a grass field, the ply delaminated with neat holes punched around the washers through the upper surface. It has been fine since I reinforced it with a plate of 1/8 inch regular plywood.
Good luck!
