Paint sprayer
I got rid of my old sprayer about 5 years ago. It had a small compressor, and an atomization spray with a 2-cup bottle. It worked great for model painting. My airbrush is too small, so I need to get a new sprayer for planes. Anyone have experience with this one?

I use a $9.99 Harbor Freight touch-up gun and an $85 1.5hp, 3gal Sears Craftsman compressor. It takes a while to cover a large wing, but it works fine for a budget system. The key is to always pour your dope through a paint strainer when using these cheap guns.

Hey, Dave,
I always used to strain my paint thru pantyhose. Didn't often catch anything, but every once once in a while, it paid off. That's when I was using K&B SuperPoxy.

The pantyhose strainer is a good idea. The problem with dope is that the solids separate and settle to the bottom of the can and even if you shake and stir it until your arm drops off there's always a few little undissolved lumps of pigment and solids suspended in the dope.
Have you tried the Klasskote system? I understand it's very similar to Superpoxy:

I haven't used this model from Wagner, but Wagner is mainly used in construction (very light construction, more like handyman) applications. All the sprayers I have used in construction, are called Airless sprayers. They pump the paint through the gun and nozzle. No air. The HVLP, LVHP, and your airbrush all mixes air with the paint to atomize the paint. I could be completely wrong here about this particular model from Wagner, but I do think you better look into it a bit more. I looks to me like an airless gun. You might end up doing House Chores if your not too careful!!

Wow... I'm impressed.
I looked at the site a little better and noticed a link to there demo video. That little guy does atomize paint pretty darn well. I'm going to check this out also. More atomization=less wieght.
