Default Flying Connected & Locked-In

I just wondering if others in this forum have had this experience?
Have you ever noticed that some days when you fly you seem more "connected" with your plane than on other days? Sometimes when I fly, I just "feel it"...like the airplane is part of me and I'm actually feeling it. And then there are times it's just not like that. Today was one of these days. With clear skies and almost no wind, I went flying my Tower Kaos .40 this morning. The radio and equipment worked fine and I had as many landings as take-offs....but I was off. My timing was off. The maneuvers just didn't "click" like they should. I'm wondering if this is related to "bio-rthyms". Professional athletes sometimes talk about this. Like a baseball pitcher who has great ball-control one day...and then a few days later the manager pulls him in the 2nd inning because he "doesn't have his stuff today".
Regards
J.C.

If anyone wants to find me....I'll be at the flying field.

Absolutely! I also have the same thing happen when I play golf. Every once in a while, it all "clicks" Then on other days, not.

Back when I was competing Masters class, and practicing 3 afternoons a week and one w/e day, I could really feel whether the practice was going to be good or not. Much of the reaction is muscle memory, like the rudder/elev feed in a slow roll. You don't really think of the flying, you feel it. Some days it's on, some not.

My mentor told me that as soon as I realize it's one of those off days, Go home, practice 3D, anything but your pattern work. JC is exactly right, much the way your fingers memorize the keys on the keyboard. If you continue to practice it wrong or with mistakes, you are undoing what you learned last time out.

Definitely...no doubt about it...
Some days it's like a really cool almost meditative state and it just flows...

Other days...well...it just ain't there...

Some of it depends on my state of mind...and outside distractions, or if I had a good nights sleep...a good breakfast, etc. etc. (phases of the moon?)
