Hey you won it!! Kewl...I never saw that one!! Great Job...You got yourself a YS 61AR!! That will be nice if she's serviceable!!

Not sure on the Airframe...But it appears to have a top mounted exhaust??

edit: Nevermind...I was wrong...Was thinkin' a Desire but don't think so now... [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

Kewl Dude!!

i knew it was a ys engine but that's all i could tell. it's a pretty airframe though..just needs some work it appears. but if it's servicable, what a steal!!!!

Yeah you can tell by the Machined head (and barely visible Oil Plug screw) it's an "AR" version..Schweet...

Yup a little TLC and she should be a good one!!

It seems to have "Desire-ish" lines...But the nose looks too short and the belly pan is (or has been) highly modified if it's a Desire...I can't really enlarge the pic's up enough to see allot of detail without them getting too grainy...

I don't think there were a whole lot of airplanes with the pipe mounted like that though?? (*If* it's actually an over the wing pipe like I'm thinkin')

Have Fun...

DooooooooooooD....Guess what that is!!! Waaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

It's an MK SkyMaster....You Lucky Son of a Gun!!

It's painted sorta odd which makes it hard to tell...But that's what it is...Flaps and all....(The plans call for the flaps to be "longer" than he has them...so that makes it look a little different too)

Nize!!

I'm comin over when you get it...

Man...A YS 61R AR and an MK SkyMaster 60 for $56 ....Holy Smokes...What ever little "Work" is required to get her whipped into shape...That is Awesome!!

So Really...I do wanna see this puppy once you get her!!

Here are the points I used to reach my conclusion on the drawings...See if you agree:
1) The short little stubby belly pan...(Matches the print exactly)
2) Removable Top Fuse section...From the canopy back to about midways down the turtledeck...(Per Print)
3) Vents on the removable section for airflow/cooling of the tuned pipe...(Shaped a little differently-louvered rather than open-..but Per Print...)
4) Flaps...(Per Print but cut flush with Ailerons rather than a little longer as the print shows)
5) Appearance of the Wing and Stab planform...(Looks like print...but missing a little "chamfer" on the tips which could have been builders choice..Very Minor detail)
6) Wings Saddle area looks about right except appears to be missing Rudder Servo access hatch...Again probably builders choice..Minor Detail...

Lucky..Lucky..Lucky..

DHal - I live about 22 miles from the seller's place. Let me know if you need some help with shipping. I have shipped some pattern planes in the past, but not with the stabs on, or full wings. If you talk to the guy, I am over on the coast, Hobe Sound, FL,
7 miles south of Stuart and 8 miles north of Jupiter. I will send you a PM. My e-mail: [email protected]

My cell: 772-834-9258 Best Contact.

well, the plane has shipped. after some cajoling and negotiation i have gotten the skymaster shipped. it should arrive in a of couple of days. the seller really spent a lot of time getting it boxed and ready to ship. i was worried for a while that the shipping would be more than the seller wanted to do. after all, it was listed as local pickup or arrange shipping. I had crankpin (Vince) on standby should the seller had started balking.

btw, what is the difference between a YS .61 AR and a FR?

Congrats!!

"FR" pertains to the YS 45 and 60 (FS= Side Exhaust and FR= Rear Exhaust) ...

Here is a link about the differences between the 61R LS and the 61R AR:

Here is another about running one for the first time:

What is a YS .61 two stroke "pumper?", about 8 years old, worth. It is brand new in the box. Turns over fine. I am not sure about the age, but in that area. Side exhaust.

Some Reference..A recent eBay transaction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=007

I've seen them sell for a pretty broad price range...I bought one off the RCU Marketplace and I think I paid $225 NIB (A little higher than normal)...I think I've seen them go for between $120 and $180 on the bay...

Dunno if that helps??
