Hatori/MK kit headers source

I was searching for a US importer of Hatori pipes and headers for sixty 2-strokes and couldn't find anyone selling them. But, I did find this hobby shop in Japan called Tokyo Hobbies that will ship to the US. The prices are pretty good, too. 100 Yen is 93¢ so the #650 pipe is $74.36. I'd also like to know if anyone here has ordered from this shop or if they know of a source in the US.

Did you try Central Hobbies. Do a search for their website. Try Macs products. They have an extensive line of headers and pipes and might have something you could use.

Dave,
I don't know if you are trying to do an authentic old pattern build but if you are looking for a custom header have you heard of Mueller headers? I have seen pictures of his work on the NSRCA list and they look like art work. If you give him the engine brand/type and rise info he has it done in a matter of days. If Dave G. doesn't have his contact info I will dig it up for you if you decide you'd like to talk to him.

are Hatori pipes that much better than other pipes? i noticed bill cunningham posting the other day about a 650 hatori pipe (and another model number). it seemed that Hatori is the best in the myriad of different threads i've read.

jetflyrf86, I haven't asked Central Hobbies if they can special order the full Hatori line. I would imagine that since they carry Hatori pipes for YS's that they could.
jlkonn, thanks, I have seen Mueller's headers and they do look first rate.
As for the link to Tokyo Hobbies, I thought it might be useful to post it. As I said, I don't know of of anyone in the US that stocks Hatori pipes for older 2-stroke sixties.

You might want to check Singapore hobbies. They have had an extensive inventory of Hatori pipes and headers and the exchange rate is pretty favorable.
I would be surprised if HAtori is still manufacturing any 60 size pipes or headers as the demand is pretty low. Mueller headers are first rate and only about $45 (US) plus shipping.
Macs muffled pipes will work with any 60, but if you can get a Hatori pipe I'd jump on it

I have to agree with Will...Macs Quiet Pipes are alright...And they're available (I Think)...But Hatori Pipes are a cut above...I've always paid a bit more for Hatori over Macs...But the Quality is there to justify it IMHO..
Have Fun...
