Fliteglas Pagan MK II
I recently aquired an unbuilt kit for the Fliteglas Pagan MK II. The kit is missing most of the balsa, but the foam cores and glass fuse are in great shape. Here is what I know about the kit and company...
The kit is designed by Rex Taylor (member of RCU) who started making the Pagan MK I for himself and locals until a shot of it was published in RCM in the early 60's. Then Fliteglas Laminates was born when the requests for kits came in for the Pagan MK I. The Pagan MK II was designed with the swept wing, progressive airfoil, and barn door ailerons for his personal use and was later made in kit form. Fliteglas was a pioneer in glass fuse foam wing designs and created many design innovations in the early years of proportional RC. Rex made kits and continued to produce new designs for a few years and then sold out to Ralph White (also RCU member) in 1967. Ralph continued the company until the early 80's when he developed an allergy to the poly resin and then sold to Bob Dively models.
The Pagan MK II was designed and kitted in the mid to late 60's... The one in my posession came from a fellow modeller in Tucson, AZ. I have inventoried the Kit versus what is needed per the plans and will gather the missing pieces over the next few months and should be building this next fall. Here are pics of exactly what I have.... Any other info on the Pagan you may have is appreciated, there is no other info out there on this plane(per google), other than the 2 threads in the Vintage forums.

I’m looking forward to following your thread, the kit pictures really take me back on a nostalgia trip. I had a couple of them. I’d forgotten about the preformed leading edges. It was my first 60 size low wing aircraft and they flew pretty well. They were very popular in the Northwest where I lived back then.

I am now in contact with Rex Taylor, and hoping Ralph White will chime in here on RCU about the kit. Rex has given several ideas of how to lighten the plane and get a little more out of it. No one has built or flown one of these in so many years I will have to figure it all out for my self in the end. Not a bad thing, it's not beyond my building skill and should go smoothly. It's great to know that I have 1 of a small handful left of this aircraft and I will build it with that in mind.
--Exactly what would be required to fly this in a vintage class?
--What changes could be made and still have it class legal?

I was just told by Ralph in the other forum that this is one of the kits from when Rex Taylor owned Fliteglass. Meaning this kit was made pre 1967.
