I read a aticle lastnight on the SPA site about blancing your plane, so I tried there idea this morning and it seemed to work well.

My question was do you think 46.8grams is a lot of weight to add to one side of the airplane to get the wings level?

This would be the left side, opisite from the muffler. I added some weight to the tail also to where it looked about level maybe a tiny bit nose heavy but barly. it was way nose heavy, I added I guess about the same to the tail to get it there. I hope it flys better.

I do not know if i should temp. put the weight on the wing or not, should I wait to fly it with the changed cg weight first? then ad the side to side weight?

That's about 1 3/4 ounces, it's more than just muffler compensation. Are you sure the prop shaft is on the centerline?

Usually I look at 1/2 - 3/4 ounce at most.

I agree, temporarily mount it and test it out.

½ oz to do a side mounted OS 61 SF ABC-P and pipe on a 65” wing.

not sure what this muffler weighs, But it looks heavy, I have the super tigre 61.

when you say prop centerline you mean is the motor on stright? I guess so it doesnt fly like its not.

well it says its 1.65 ounce.

the engine is upright just the muffler hanging off. but whos to say one side of the wing is not heavier then the other.

That could easily be due to too much glue or heavier wood or both on one side of the wing. Not unheard of at all.

I use finish nails in the wing tip if not much is needed and then a little touch up paint or covering.
