Looking for old pictures
Does anyone out there have any old pictures of a Compensator? I'm about to be covering my Gator Flea, and I wanted to do it like my dad's old Compensator, but I don't have any decent pictures of it. I'm fairly certain the layout was a mimic of the scheme that was shown on the box. I think it was the same way Steve Helms had his Compensators laid out, but I'm not sure. Colors aren't important, I already know what colors I'm going to use. I appreciate any help anyone can offer, even if it is an idea for a different layout... I just want to get some ideas together before I fire up the iron.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Well this is the scheme used by Rhett Miller on his original Gator Flea and is identical to that which he used on his Compensator. Underside of wing was the same as the top.

Don't recall that I knew this was a "Blue Angels" paint scheme when I did it in 1973. The first Dirty Birdy paint scheme was my favorite of these planes. The Mach I was the last pattern plane I built before leaving RC until a couple of months ago.

They've got an acronym for rocketry enthusiasts that took a long hiatus from the hobby. They're BARs or 'Born Again Rocketeers.' It seems to be a common tale among hobbyists.

OK, one last thing... Does anyone have a picture of Steve Helms' Bootlegger? It turns out, that was the design my dad copied. It's very similar to the Compensator, with subtle differences. I thought Steve flew a Compensator for a while, but it turns out he was flying his own design the Bootlegger (imagine that).
