using a HVLP gun and latex exterior paint mixed with windex and floterol i am practicing painting a super sportster. i built the plane in the mid 90's and glassed it last yr. i got most of the latex ideas online of course. after another coat or 2 i will start adding color. i know there are a lot of high gloss finish techniques out there, feel free to offer any suggestions. i plan to use Nelson clear coat to protect the finish. opinions and suggestions welcome.

i bought a new AmPro AR 6029 from the big auction site. paid about $20 for a $90 gun but i watched hvlp guns for months there while i researched at other locations. most research i found on various rc sites said an $35 gun from harbor freight works fine. i used the gun's recommended 40 psi and did no adjustments to the knobs. i need to take a better close up of the finish so far, it's not bad at all.
as i said, i diluted the paint with 50% windex and added a little floterol. the windex will evaporate. most of my painting info came from the tom pierce website, i think it was his corsair build.
