Default ATLANTA

Hey guys, I was thining out the hanger and I thinking of letting my 60size Atlanta go. You guys think I should put it in the classifieds? What would something like that be worth. I think it's 95% untouched...

Hi Gregg,
You can put your nearly immaculate Atlanta on eBay and let the 'market' decide the value.  The last Zigsaw Atlanta kit on eBay was last November (2008) adnd the winnign bid was for $510 (I keep accurate records of pattern stuff auctioned off on ebay). The economic climate has changed a bit since then, but  I Think the classic pattern market is still very strong. I would place the value at $350-$500 if you choose to auction the kit. You can also sell it via Rusty Dose's pattern trader (the first issue is soon to be released) - he is a member of RCU if you wish to contact him. Lastly, you can put it in the RCU classifieds. I'd love to purchase it myself (and I drive up from Richmond, VA to pick it up), but I have enough projects (and my wife would shoot me ).
   Good Luck,
Will B.

Thanks guys, I'm getting ready to put it on this site 1st then if it doesn't do well I will go on ebay... I would like to trade for an Aurora 60 but I don't think that will happen. On this site is it a fixed price I must use or can it be a "best offer" situation? Thanks again

Greg,

your Atlanta will sell in a matter of minutes. You have to ask for a price in the marketplace - it is not an auction site. Buyers can make offers. It is cool practice to sell to the first offer that meets with your asking price. If you are interested in "seeing how it does" then you should put it up for auction. Apparently one is not allowed to mention the auction site other than by "loose reference" (i.e., don't spell it out).

An Aurora 60 kit is hard to come by (as is an Atlanta). If you'd like one, join the crowd!

Hope to see it posted soon!

David.

Guys,

I have a Aurora for sale RTF minus receiver and battery. This is the one I flew at the 2008 Tangerine. I posted it for sale at FG (f_lying G-iants) if you are interested.
Thanks,
Jim

Atlanta...

Gregk,

If you want access to my private e-mail list of model buying fanatics to see the Atlanta? Be sure and send me the item#. I will add it to the Classic pattern-Trader's new feature..."Classic Alert". The "Classic Alert" is another innovative no fee, no cost service offered by the Classic pattern-Trader delivering e-mail messages about classic pattern items available.

The alert would be sent within 24 hours of receipt of the information...plenty of time for a 5-day auction site.

Excellent,

I will forward to my personal and confidential "Classic Alerts" list this evening. This airplane is interesting because of the Naruke heritage. It will be interesting if the final price is greater than $600.

I believe the reason why your auction didn't go any higher was because the kit that you were offering has prebuilt issues. Atlanta's at pristine condition will go as high as $700 - $800. One went for I believe over $700 several months back. As a matter of fact, at one time I believe earlier this year, there were 3 or 4 Alanta's NIB that went for $500 +. Nobody will value your kit, with prebuilt conditions over $350, I'm guessing BUT I could be wrong base on the last offering price. Plus no one knows how those prebuilt parts were built. You never mentioned in your description that you were the builder. Typically in those kits NIB the wing halfs and stab halfs are prebuilt. I don't believe they come with the tips installed. Anyhow, I'm interested - whats your asking price? - [email protected]

Yes. My understanding is that Chuck (Atlanta 60) and Dan (Deadstick) will be bringing this beautiful ship back to life as a glass/foam kit. We are all eagerly waiting for Chuck to put the finishing touches on the molds so that Dan can produce the kits.

Welcome to RCU!

David.
