Hi all,
My name is Mark & I am slowly making my way into pattern. A friend from another forum (Rebellion) referred me here.
I currently am sorting out a Cermark Javelin 2 w/ Saito .72. The first thing I noticed was a serious ground loop issue especially on a grass field. Ordered a set of CF gear from Graph Tech, Am going to mount it on the fuse as far back as I can to the forward section of the wing saddle. As far as trimming goes, it has an issue with too much down elevator required for inverted. I have the CG back as far as I dare, getting touchy on the elevator. Down lines a very straight. Over the winter, i decfeased tha AOA of the main wing slightly, have yet to test fly the mod.
Anybody have any tips on this airframe? I know it's not perfect, but I would like to get it trimmed as neuteral as possible.
Thanks in advance,
Mark

If you are talking about modern AMA&FAIpattern ("turnaround"), then this is the wrong forum. This is a sub-forum for classic pre-turnaround planes.

My Feedback: (1)
Put a larger tail wheel on your plane. My Venus would swing hard left on grass with the tiny stock wheel.
I used this one with a 1 1/2" tire and the ground looping problem was completely solved:
