I have purchased 3 brand new in the box recently and have not paid over 250 but things being the way they are eBay is the way I would go. I have sold one to good friend at what I paid for it and wish I still had the motor. I'm glad my friend got the motor but still mourn the loss. If you sell it you will at some point wish you hadn't . Regaurdless of the price you get...

Gary's figure of $250 strikes me as what they should cost/sell for. I believe that pumped RF/SF ABC's go for $180-220 so it seems fitting that a Hanno should sell for a ~20-30% more considering it's heritage and capabilities. I bought mine with some use for $180 and another new pumped ABC SF for $175 both seeming reasonable.

I agree with Gary and Chuck, you will miss it when all is said and done. The market is bad right now for sellers. Unless you really need to let it go, I would suggest holding on to it.
I just bought an OS 61 SF-P with a new piston/liner and bearings installed for $100, and there is a really nice one here on RCU for 150.
Last week a member contacted me to sell his OS 61RF that was actually a Hanno with a header and pipe for $175 shipped, I couldn't add another, I have enough for me. It went this past Saturday to someone else.
NIB is Always nice to have especially w/ the Hanno's break in.
On a personal note, why do you want to sell it David?

i acquired it (and a supra fli) with the intent of flipping them. i got a good deal. i, for some reason, don't feel the need to collect a hanno like i do an mk kit. and then there's the giant scale plane i'm looking at buying.

LOL.... the list seems never ending doesn't it.
But then isn't that a good thing?
I wasn't really into the Hannos or the YSs until I stumbled onto this forum. Now I have way more than I should.... Oh yeah, I found out that it was sold on Saturday because I couldn't take it any longer and emailed the seller that I will buy it. I was a little sad that it was gone, but it's nice to know it went to a good home.
I was thinking that he might sell it to someone who has no idea what it is and treat it as such. Glad to know that wasn't the case!

Considering that Hanno Specials haven't been manufactured for more than 15 years, how many NIB (MKI or MKII) engines are still out there?? Based on what I've read here, seen sold on ebay, and conversations with those who purchased Nelson replacement parts, I'd guess as many as a couple of Hundred (worldwide). I believe OS did not make more than 8,000 total Hanno Specials (6,000 MKI and 2,000 MKII ring and ABC) based on my serial number research.

There is a slightly used Hanno in the RCU Marketplace right now (or was) with an asking price of $250..
Most all my engines have been used and I've paid between $80-250 for them...The only NIB one I had was combo NIB Hanno/Aurora so I don't know how to calculate the price for just the engine..
The best guage of market value would be "the bay"...It appears to me to be a little spotty...I've seen some nice engines go for less than I figured...Then again I've seen others go for higher...I suppose it boils down to who want's it..
Just set your reserve on the least you would take for it and go from there...
I have enough already too or I'd be hitting you up myself...
Have Fun..
Chuck
edit: The most recent NIB Hanno's I have in my "bay" history went for:
$359 (NIB not sure if it was MK I or II as it doesn't state in ad & can't see complete box)
$602 (NIB MK I engine, header & pipe combo from the dude in Korea)
$313 (NIB?? MK I engine and header)
