Default Kaos from original Bridi kit

Folks,
I've finally gotton around to building my Kaos from an original Bridi kit!! I've found a K&B .61 NIB I'll install when completed! She'll have DS821 servos guided by my JR 12X and an AR7000 RX powered by a 2 cell A123 1100Mah battery pack. Some things I just can't "retro" into it! :-)) I'll have more pics when the covering begins. In the meantime, enjoy a flash back of 35 years!

Rit liquid dye in very warm water. I let it soak for about 15 minutes checking often. Wash the canopy in mild liquid dish soap to clean it first.

Dave,

Great job .. what a nice memory! Don't you just hate that new MonoKote .. too bad they ruined a great product. Never again for me...

Now you need to find some retro Kraft-Hayes wheels .. I always loved those...

And to think when I finished my R54, people said "it flies like a Kaos with a turbine" .. now after you fly this you can say "it flies like a Reaction with a prop!".

Wonderful job on your Kaos, Dave! I'm beginning to cut parts out from my "scrap pile" for the Super Kaos (RCM plan build) to be built this winter. Your color scheme sure brings back the memories...Enjoy!!

Soft landings.

Dave,
I like the way you think! I used the KH wheels on retract equiped planes, Dirty Birdy, P7, P8. My old Kaos had the round DuBros!

Dave, I'd....WE would all like to see those pics! It's great, isn't it, how pictures of these old planes can bring back some fond memories and inspire us to build the "great ones" again? Sure beats the cookie-cutter ARF by a long shot. The way you displayed your Kaos pictures reminds me of the old RCM style articles where we would get a bunch of build shots on a page; way cool!

Soft landings.

OK, how about a blast from the past. That's me with my Super Kaos with an OS 60H blackhead, Semco muffler, guided by an 5 channel W.E. Expert radio. Around 1976.

Pic taken at Wright Brothers Memorial Contest? Looks like a "std" Kaos with the open nose?

Here's the same Super Kaos with my Dirty Birdy.......

BTW... That's a can of Freon by the red field box for the Rhom-Air retracts! My MY how things change!

Last picture scans! Another Super Kaos (we went through 'em pretty fast back then!) and a scratch built around 1978.

Glad you like it! BTW... I do have the RCM 02/1970 mag the construction article was in. RCM was the best! Still have a collection in the attic of MANY model magazines!

I certainly do enjoy the pics! Wish I had a pile of those old magazines to look at when the snow starts up again....I remember giving huge paper grocery sacks of model magazines away when I moved back to Michigan. Now I realize why everyone "scrambled" after them....not everything I've done has been a wise move . Seems like the older I get the more I miss the older model articles...they were fun to read!

Soft landings.

Dave,
Yeah, I think it was Wright Brothers contest. I thought it was a Super Kaos. It could have been a standard. Too long ago to really remember.
