Default Almost classic semi kit

One of my club members a former pattern flier has had this taking up space in his basement for the last 17 years. A semi kit for Mike McConvilles 60 sized desire. Foam cores, fiberglass and plans. One of the early and successful turnaround designs.
This brought back some memories as I saw the plane fly at the Nats probably 1991 and talked Mike into sending me a couple of sets of Fiberglass and photocopied hand drawn plans. I had to cut the cores myself. I built 2 of them. In the next year or two the YS 120 4C planes started to dominate the pattern scene. He did design a larger 120 version.
The cores and FG parts were bought from RC city (invoice still on box) They were $50 each. The plans from Flying Models plans service. Not sure of the price.

I have the Flying Models Magazine with that plane in it. Let me know if you want/need it, I could copy the article.

I actually have it as well. I think I posted it in the past for someone here.
I still have one of my original desires. I modified mine to have a plug in wing with the pipe under the wing instead of above it.

No way. I'm way too young for any of my work to be considered "classic".

Right.....?

Wish I could find that yellow, red and black Desire 60. Sold it several years ago (dumb move) . Saw it for sale on eBay from someone in Texas a few years ago and lost track after that.

Dave,

I have been thinking about ordering some back issues of Flying Model and was wondering if you could let us know what issue had the article. I would be interested in adding it on to the list of issues which I was going to order.

Thank you,

Teo

Ooops. I just realized you have already done it. Thanks.

He said "almost classic" Mike...lol. Great job on the P7. I'm hoping to get over and fly with Mark soon and play with his P8.

Almost classic, but unfortunately both of us look a bit older than we did at the 91 Nats
