Default Need a couple leads

I'm looking for a classic design pattern, .60 size, with an anhedral tail. Names for reference is a huge help.

I'm a profile flyer/builder and want a good pattern for practice, and as such, am looking to build a profile of a classic.

Right now, i guess suggestions on planes as possible candidates is need.

Got any?

I'm looking for a classic design pattern, .60 size, with an anhedral tail. Names for reference is a huge help.
Here are some pattern ships, all with anhedral tails, designed in the '70's and '80's for the classic formula of .60 two stroke engine with tuned pipe exhaust.

Curare (Tournament of Champions winner 1976, World F3A Championship winner 1977) and Magic (World F3A Championship winner 1981) designed by Hanno Prettner.
Tiporare designed by Dick Hanson, kit by Great Planes.
Illusion designed by Dave Brown, kit by Great Planes.
Galaxy, kit by Merati Models of Italy.

Best regards,

George

Thanks for the help guys! Decided it's either a curare or a magic for sure. Going to use the traditional coverings and retracts for a "scale" appearance in the bird.

Now, who makes a wing kit or has the plans on these planes is the next step. Anyone have a file for lazer cutting or do that? So that's a wing kit or ribs for short

Really appreciate the help, new to pattern so my knowledge first hand is squat, minus the venus .40 the 10 year old trashed this summer.[]

Hi,

Eureka Aircraft sell Curare short kit etc: http://www.eurekaaircraft.com/plan_kits/curare.htm
I have ordered one myself, have not got it yet.

Canopy can be found on ebay like this (in Germany in this example): http://cgi.ebay.de/Curare-60-Kabinen...item2a01db480a

I have bought such canopy from this seller for my Curare and the canopy is high quality.

I built a Curare in 1976 from Model Airplane News plan (I was 15 years old then) and it is rather easy to build. It files beautifully even in gusty winds. I had a Rossi 60 with side exhaust and pipe, Carl Goldberg retracts and EK logictrol Super pro 7 ch radio (I still have the radio saved).

Good luck!

/Bo

Slabro,

Go here http://www.trentonrcflyers.com/patte...structions.htm and download the Curare zip file with the parts and plans. Cheapest and fastest way to get started (ie. FREE).

Thanks for the help guys. Just found Eureka last nite, got a point in the right direction. Won't need a canopy though, this will be a .60 curare/tiporare profile with tetracts!! Faux canopy by outline lol. I think it's gonna be a very worth while project. Keep ya posted.
