Hi,
My name is Mario Bruza. I started in RC long time ago but I have been displaced for 15 years.
My father bought in 1980 a MATTLAS 40 in Germany and it never was mounted.
I came back to fly in few days and my dream is mount this Kit (MATTLAS 40).
Never in my life I mounted a kit like that one, I only heve been mounted kits ARF. For me is a wonderful experience make this kit a airplane.
But to start the construction maybe I will need some help because this is my first construction engineering.
My plant is not recognizable (too old) and I would like to know if someone who have this plane can send me it.
Make this plane real is very inportant to me!!!!!
Is someone have the plant and more instructions that it will help me to start the construction I will be much grateful.
Every thing that can help me to make the plane real will be precious.
Thanks every one and good air-flights.

HI
Thats awsome Mario!!!
Maybe you should start another thread for your build. The other guys in this Classic Pattern forum are going to be the best informative group you'll find, especially when it comes to the MK kits. And they enjoy helping each other as much as the hobby itself.
Just Please post pictures.. lots and lots of pictures. We all love them.

47box,
at the bottom of your reply post form there is a link with a paper clip icon entitled "Click here to upload images and files!". Click that link and it will open up a small window with buttons for locating (on your computer) and uploading images to RCU. Wait for the upload window to say the images have been uploaded and then click OK.
When you submit your text post, the images will be at the bottom of your post.
Hope this helps,
David.

Gotta love the quality of MK kits - outstanding. Nice layout, just don't set fire to it while having a smoke!
I'll be very interested in following your build. I have its successor, the MK Arrow 40, which I will build one of these days.
What do you have in mind for power?
David.

WOW!!
Great classic MK kit and an excellent flyer, with or without retracts. For power, put a higher revving 46 in there like the Thunder Tiger Pro 46 with a Jett muffler and go!!

David,
Sometimes I´m analyzing the plant and when I realize there are two cigarrets lits....
...hehehe
David, I´m building this plane to have like remembrance. My father died last year and I have a commitment by myself to do this plane real. I never mounted one plane like that, just ARF´s.
My father loved mount this kit´s like MATTLAS40.
I´m flying one trainee plane then I don´t have hurry to build the MATTLAS40, but when I finish this one I gonna buy another one to build (NOT ARF´S) to fly.
Mattlas40 I gonna build just the structure to hang next the plant (I will make the frame the plant).
The next one after matllas I wil fly.........This one will be a good experience..
It will be cool to learn to make this construction whit you help.....Thanks very much!!!!!
Next weekend I gonna start.
I will post pictures
See you friend!!!

Well,
like the box in your workshop says, this kit will be a "Ki Joia" to build!
I'm not sure if it was mentioned above but now that you have all the parts laid out, it might be worth considering tracing all the parts in the kit. If you make detailed notes to go along with the part numbers (e.g., wood thickness and type), it will be possible for you to re-create this model using fresh wood and the rare plan (little note, it is called a "plan" not "plant" - the latter is the kind that has flowers!) that you have in hand. It sounds like you would like to have a hangar queen to honour the passing of your dad and a real model that you can actually take flying - this would be the best way to accomplish that.
By the way, MK's engine of choice for their prototype models were either OS or YS. YS were the preferred 2-strokes in their 40 and 60 size pattern models although YS did not make a smaller engine than the 45 so they used OS for their 25-32 size models. Just so you know, there is also a Mattlas 20 - the cute little brother of your model! [8D]
Go Brasil!

Hey David,
How long do you take to complete the build?
Hey David,
How long do you take to complete the build?

Generally speaking though I would say that a 40 size classic MK kit could take between 80-100 hours to have flight ready. It really depends on how quick and/or experienced a builder you are. It also depends on how much gear you build into your mode and especially what kind of finish you have in mind. A painted model takes considerably longer than a covered model.
One thing is for sure, there is no need to rush the build of an MK kit - it is such a pleasure to build these kits!
