Default Portable Starter

Where to purchase starter pack for attachment to starter. Need for up to YS 115. I have tried the Tower unit with the 9V gel-cell, need more torque.

Thanks,

Crank

Use four A123 cells. Voltage will be about 13.5 volts. Starts my OS140 with ease and has even started a 40 cc gas engine.

Exactly what I was going to suggest.

If you want more capacity and lighter weight in order to attach it to the starter (if this is convenient), you can use a 4s lipo with high C rating. Most starter motors have ample tolerance for increased voltage like that.

BTW Crank, I use a 3s lipo in my TX for power and the radio just sings along at 12V all day long. I think it could take 2-3 days of flying before the pack needs recharging but I'm not going to try that... [X(]

Check out B&P associates, they have a host of battery packs for starters.

I too reccomend the B & P starter. Get them to put the LiPo pack on it for you. Much lighter than NiCd and spins YS 160-170 DZ and my Moki 180 with ease.

I agree. The B&P stuff is hard to beat, and they are great people to work with,
