Default original muffler

OK all you engine guys, time to show off. What would be the correct original muffler for a ST G60 BH ABC Ring PDP? I have a bolt on flow thru Semco, loud, and I know about Macs but I would like to stay in the time frame as the engine with an original ( no pipe ) if there was such a thing. Thanks

Hi,

As far as I know this is what You should look for.

It is from Simprop catalog 1978 (German RC manufacturer).
"Schalldämpfer" in german means silencer in english.
There is an ordinary silencer and there is a pipe for this engine.
Now, where to find any of them will probably be the challange but not impossible I would guess.

I have the same engine. It is the one that I have described here on RCU as turning heads whenever it starts. No stock muffler, but a Mac's open front instead. I run an 11x6 prop for exhibition flying (I should have said that I used to...). Yes, the prop is considered to be at the lightest side of the engine prop selection chart. When this thing is pulling around one of my .40 to .50 sized show planes, that are built to withstand the rigors placed upon it by this engine, heads turn. Even after all of this time (30 years), it takes second place to no other engine for the job it has been chosen to do. Simply put, it howls.

I would love to pick up another one. They are scarce.

Bem,

I sure like the looks of the muffler shown in your first picture. It's at least 1/2 the size of the muffler I got with my G61BH. Thanks for posting the pics....
