Default NAME the PLANE again

I really hate to make this post, I have looked on the classic patter photo gallery and just cannot pinpoint this plane., and have some research, but WHAT THE HECK IS IT?. llooks like an early Aurora, but this plane has double tapered wing. The motor is mounted with the head at the 9 o’clock position with the header down the belly pan. I Asked our local club member if they had any old pattern plane I could rebuild for the BPA and some one gave this to me, along with a YS60 in a coffee can.. I like it.. and going to rebuild it. thanks TMG

My guess is that it is an Omen, by George Asteris. At least the "torpedo bay" on the belly ends similarly to George's two-stroke Omen. The wing, I'm not so sure.

I saw this photo on classic patter site, it looks a lot like my plane, It is called an Aurora . I am only familiar with the MK Aurora, maybe this is a earlier version? I have emailed the person who posted the photo, maybe he can send me some photo of this wings. I will keep you posted on what I find out. tmg

I've never seen an Aurora with a side mounted engine. Not the ones I built anyways.

This is an Omega. Flew one in the early 80s. Was alot like the Atlanta without the swept wings and inverted engine. Was a really good flying airplane.

I tend to lean towards it being an Omega, besides,I like the name Omega. thank for all the input, I have cut new wings and getting ready to sheet them, trying to get the weight down, making a new belly pan, I don't think the one that I got with the plane is correct, because it does not fit. when I get ready to complet the plane i will post a some build photos, first to finish my focus II and new phonix 7, then back to the Omega. thank again T green
