Just wondering if any of you Pattern gurus remember this plane from the late 80's to early 90's? It is a 60 size with plug in wings and stab. Here is a pic of one started. thanks gurus.

Hi, That should be a good looking plane when finished. Hope it will fly good also. Rather large stab?

Add the tips of the fin and wings, add the rudder and the stab will look normal (I think)

The ailerons and stab haven't been cut out yet. Theplane's lineslook awesome even unfinished. I think it is a Mike Harrison design and kitted by Philips Aircraft or something like that. The plans are dated 1990. I'm thinking of selling it, but I'm not sure yet. What would be a fair market value for this kit? That is not to say I'm getting rid of it.

I bought it on Fleebay about 2yrs ago and stored it until now. I'm thinking of building it with a Super Tiger 75 with a wrap around header and tuned pipe. Where can I find a canopy for it? I shaped one out of foam, but I don't like it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks gents.

the obsession was designed for a rear exhaust 60 2 stroke. anything else might be difficult. you might check with maureen dunphy about the old molds. they bought out phillips aircraft i think.

My Feedback: (121)
Hi guys,
According to the NSRCA K-Factor District 1 report of June, 2001 (by Chris Dansereau) a gentleman named Scott Erdman (a former plug maker for Larry Phillips) acquired all the Phillips Aircraft molds and planned to sell kits (along with some newer designs) through a company called Competition Designs. Phillips kits had disappeared about 10 years earlier. I don't think "Competition Designs" ever got off the ground (pun intended). I was wondering if Scott (of Classic Pattern fame) had acquired them or if they are still lying dormant somewhere.
I built 4 of their Mistress kits.

your path may be totally correct, but i think maybe mike and maureen may have bought him out for those planes. could be totally wrong, but the person you mentioned would be a good place to look.

It's possible that PAC bought the molds, but I never saw any of the Philllips kits advertised on their website. I've also spoken with Dan Hines (of Carolina Custom Aircraft) and he had expressed interest, at one time, in purchasing the PAC molds. He did not recall seeing any of the Phillips kits (that I could remember) included. I wonder if Dean Pappas would know since Phillips kitted his Maya design and he has much better geographic proximity. Maybe they will appear again someday soon...

Would you gents know if the fuse were composed of epoxy glass or fiberglass resin? thanks again and hope to start my project soon. My ST 75 is here and now to gather the rest of the stuff.

. I think a YS110 would really make it go!
