Pattern Planes in KC
I am trying to help a widow who has several pattern planes. There are 3 EU1-A's, a fully composite Utopia, an Ivan Christenson designed Saturn, Dirty Birdies, Mach 1, and many others most with Rossi engines with tune pipes and servos. I know there has to be a market for this sort of stuff, but I am not real wild about shipping if sold on the internet. There is to many to be shipping all over the country. I will be going there this weekend to make a list and take some pictures. Any ideas on how i can help her out and move this stuff?

RE: Pattern Planes in KC
I have gotten many PMs from people interested in the airplanes. To let everyone know I am going there sunday to try to make a complete list and take pictures. Some requests were on the EU1's, 2 are in Blue Angels, 1 is in white with pink and blue Circus Circus trim. Here is my email if you are interested in something [email protected]. Thanks for all the interest, I also know there are a couple of BiPlanes there, a fiberglass fuse Sky Bolt, like I said I will have more information later.

RE: Pattern Planes in KC
Thanks Duane,
I wonder, are the pictures of the Blue Angel EU-1A all the same model? Two pics are the same and the other looks like the same model, with the recover job. Any of the primo example? Thanks Duane, BTW, are the Zlin, Pitts and Skybolt all IMAC ships from the smaller era? Looks like they could be legal "Classic TOC" models. 800 sq inch for monoplanes and 1000 for bipes, I think. Thanks. Chris... |
RE: Pattern Planes in KC
The Zlin is cool as is the Bucker, shame things are too far away from me. That is the first plane I have ever seen a Suevia actually mounted in.

RE: Pattern Planes in KC
The Zlin looks like the MK version

What is this plane?
|
RE: Pattern Planes in KC
its a taurus.:)
|
RE: Pattern Planes in KC
Looking at the glass fuse's, the 1967 Hartman, has to be the Zeus ?
Crank |
RE: Pattern Planes in KC
Yeah Vince,
The typed paper labels inside the one with a vertical said "Zeus Taurus". They have complete wood frames and open bottoms. Pretty neat, they are pristine. I figured the swept wing jet was one of the fuselages. Chris... |
RE: Pattern Planes in KC
Thanks rv7, I'd like to have one of them. Do you know if it's a built up wing or foam core?
Ok, found some build threads.. Built up wing it is.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...sn/biggrin.gif |
RE: Pattern Planes in KC
Chris - I put one together. The Zeus fuselage fit the Taurus wing. We swept the LE on the Taurus wing, straignt across TE. Used ST G60's at the time.

RE: Pattern Planes in KC
What's the engine size in that Skybolt, look larger than the Sig kit but hard to tell in the photo? The full scale Skybolt in that color scheme was built by my dad (N1HW for Hale Wallace). Actually he built two with the same colors; one 180HP built early 70's and with the 260HP 6 cylinder Lycoming in the late 70's.
The 'ole man" was a very active competive modeler in the 60's -70's in scale and pylon, then later SAM RC and FF. |
