Conquest VI

Can anyone help me locate the CG on a Conquest VI? I bought one recently but am afraid to fly it as it seems to me the CG is too far aft.</p>

The plans that I have show the CG to be 7 3/8" from the leading edge at the center of the wing.  Hope this will solve your problems.

Here are the plans for the Conquest IV courtesy of Doxilla. They cant be that different. Iam flying my Conquest IV with the CGabout 3/4"behind the plan cg.

Good luck!

Start with Jim's numbers as he has the original plans again and the molds for it.

Thanks to all who replied!

I'm going to start with Jim's 7 3/8 CG, which is close to the CG position I get by extrapolatingDoug's Conquest IV plans to my Conquest VI wing.
By using Tom McPherson's post at moleski.net/rc forfinding CG,I had previously arrived at a CG position of 6.75 to 7.75 inches, for 25% to 35% MAC., but I'm not good at math and Ihad no faith in my calculation.

The current CG of my Conquest VI is 8 1/2 inches, so I have to lose weight aft or add weight to the nose. The builder was 'generous' in his application of paint, and I suspect that that is one reason why the tail is heavy. The elevator uses a standard Dave Brown pushrod and the rudder is pull pull.

There are no makings on the planeto indicate the source of the kit, but the wing is balsa sheeted foam with blocks of foam removed in the outboard half of each wing. Wingspan is 65 inches, fuse is 67 inches, dry weight is 8 lbs 12 oz, and the engine is a YS61R. I was able to buy new parts for the YS regulator. There is a 1991 AMA sticker near the top of the fin so I guess that's about when it was built.

I would not have been able to fly my Conquest VI without your help.

Glad to hear your ready to fly it now. Maybe it will get some of the NE pilots going back into the classic days.
