Help identify please

Hi,
I bought several fiberglass pattern plane airframes and would like to know what they are so I can match up the wings and stabs. I used my [link=http://www.trentonrcflyers.com/pattern/pattern1.htm]Image-base[/link] to see if I could match them up with a plane there, but I could not find a definitive match.
I have two of the first image. The second image has two different fuselages that had a page with a three-view and a name. SBA 60 and Career 60. Does anyone have any more infomation about these planes? I believe have wings and stabs for all these fuselages.
Thanks!

Career 60 looks like a curare, SBA 60 looks like an intruder

The photo of the single fuselage looks like a Summit II or III designed by Ivan Kristensen. The SBA is a fiberglass 'knock-off' of the Blue Angel. The Career is a fiberglass 'knock-off' of the Curare. I can't remember who kitted the SBA and the Career but they were sold by Mutchler's hobbies in Indiana (i think??).
My best guesses anyway ;)

Geez, I wish those kits were still around![&o] I flew the SBA to third place in Advanced at the 1986 Southeastern Championships in Augusta, Georgia...

Glowplugboy,
Wow! I live right across the river from Augusta, Ga. in North Augusta, S.C. Do you remember where you flew...what area or field? Things have changed quite a bit since 1986.

rainedave,
Thanks for the information. Can you send me a file of the Mutchler's Hobby ad in higher resolution so I can include it in my [link=http://www.trentonrcflyers.com/pattern/pattern1.htm]Classic Pattern Plane Image-base[/link] ? I would appreciate it.
Send it to <[email protected]>. (take out the <>)

Thanks

It was a long time ago [X(] and memories fade. Seems like there was a power transfer station near by... only went there once. It was the windiest contest I have ever flown at, however. Direct crosswind as I remember....

A direct crosswind on contest day was an AMA requirement in those days, wasn't it?:)

Absolutely. The judges were scoring landings if you could get it close to the runway. I've never competed in a contest with more wind than this one, ever.

casniffer..WOW What a Score!!!

Very Kewl!!

The Mulchers ad is pretty interesting...I can't really tell but is that "Jetstar" an Aurora45?? It's hard to see detail on the nose...It "looks" a little "shortly coupled" more like the Cosmos...But as far as I know the Cosmos was only a 60 size aircraft...Doesn't mean Mulchers (FK) couldn't have made a smaller version...But there was a 45 sized Aurora from MK so it would be pretty easy to "knock off"...

I wonder if the Career 60 and SBA 60 you have in the photo is Larry Philips glass work?? I just see some "techniques" I recognize that make me think it's a Philips Aircraft..

Very Good Stuff...I would love to see how these materialize!! You have some work to do... ;)

Have Fun...

These were imported copies with different names from Fun key I believe. I did have the Career, LATE 1980'S, which was basically a copy of the Curare. The kits were fiberglass fuselages with sheeted wings, stabs, and rudder.

Raindave- thanks for posting those Mutchler's Ad's!

I have two of the ones called "Phoenix 60" and I never knew their origin. They were my dad's and he always called them Phoenix but I was confused because they sure aren't the Don Lowe design.

Does anyone know if the Mutchler's Phoenix 60 is actually a Magic knock-off? To me, that's what it looks like and I've always wondered....

Thanks,
jeff

The SBA is a Blue Angle knock-off. Super Blue Angel. Great Plane.

Talk about bring back memories -- the Arcomaster (sometimes spelled Acromaster) was such a good knockoff of the MK Arrow that the MK wing would fit in the FK fuselage -- "belly pan bulkhead" notch and all.

RE: Help identify please

MK also kitted a 40 sized Cosmos. The FK kits were fiberglass/foam copies of the MK kits. The kits included sheeted foam surfaces and the price was very good!!
Tony Stillman placed 1st or 2nd in Masters at a Nats many years ago flying an Arcomaster.
