Foam wing building question

I am going to be building a foam wing for a Phantom, I plan on making it a fixed gear taildragger.
What is the best way to mount the landing gear blocks in the wing?

RE: Foam wing building question

fixed gear?? eewwww!!! seriously, probably gorilla glue since it expands into the foam. and 1/4" posts like us retracters :D use in our gear blocks would be a good idea. make sure the block is firmly clamped in place due to the gorilla glue's expanding properties.

RE: Foam wing building question

I do these type of wings for customers all the time.. I make a small piece of light ply for the block to set into and then the light ply slides into the foam also. I do all my skins with polyurethane glue and then I also have a carbon strip That ties into it all. If the customer wants i also put a small piece of carbon vail in the area.. no problems yet..

don't for get we do custom wing / stab work and short kits.

cheers,
