RE: Exclusive Interview of Dave Brown!!
You should try it from California! Three solid days of driving plus the expense. But the "Glory Days" of the Nats are over.

RE: Exclusive Interview of Dave Brown!!
I agree. Having the NATS every year in Muncie essentially makes it the "Regional" more than the NATS. I cannot use scarce and valuable family vacation time to drive a 1000 miles to a model airplane contest. From CA, well over what? 2,000 miles? And you make it in three days? That's some hard driving.

RE: Exclusive Interview of Dave Brown!!
Wow!!! All the memories!! I worked one of the pattern lines at the 1981 NATS along with my brother. He was a member of ARCS at the time, and signed me up to work even though I lived in southeast Texas at the time. Dave Brown competed (with a brown and white airplane of course), but he was on my brother's line instead of mine (rats). I do remember one young competitor who flew on my line one day. He was probably about 10-12 years old......Chip Hyde :)
And yes, it was HOT!!! |

That's funny Mike. I actually gutted my Proline and put an Orbit in it! Yeah, just kidding.
